Our goal is to provide our customers with the most advanced interlock machines and the best service in Georgia. We have over 10 year's experience in the Interlock business and know how confusing and difficult it is to comply with all the requirements necessary to have your license re-instated. We're here to help you get back on the road as soon as possible.

What is an Ignition Interlock?

It is a device that measures Breath Alcohol Content  (BrAC) and prevents a car from starting if the operator has been drinking. It consists of a base unit which is placed under the dashboard and a hand-held unit to blow into. They are attached by a cord. The machine records all the breath samples the driver provides and stores the recorded information. The hand-held unit is only about the size of a large cell phone and can be tucked out of sight when not in use.

What does it do?

It requires a breath sample before you start the car and periodically during operation of the car. If you fail the breath test before turning the car on, it will not start. If you fail the breath test while driving your car, the machine records the event. IT WILL NOT EVER CAUSE YOUR CAR TO CUT OFF WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING.

Who Needs an Ignition Interlock?

If you have received 2 or more DUIs in a 5-year period (or 3 in a 10-year period), Georgia law says you will be required to have an ignition interlock installed on your car for at least 6 months. This requirement is a condition to having your full driving privileges restored. This is a Department of Driver Service requirement and does not have to be ordered by the judge as part of your sentence. You must fulfill this requirement even if it doesn't appear on the judge's sentencing order. At the end of your license suspension, the Department of Driver Services will issue you a restricted license that only allows you to drive a car equipped with an interlock. Your full driving privileges will not be restored until you have fulfilled the interlock obligation.
